Conclusion
It’s not surprising that one of the most famous images of Kerala is a long haired girl with a broken chain. Some call it a myth and there are several versions of the story behind this image. As the story goes, the image was taken by a local photographer, J. D. Narayan, in October, 1980, on the banks of the Thodupuzha river, Mala. Thodupuzha is about 20 kilometres from Kottayam. My point to ponder is – How can we deny the fact that there is more to Kerala than Malayalam Cinema, Ayurveda and Tourism? So the next time you want to visit Kerala, don’t forget to check if Yelagiri is on your list of destinations.
